What Is An Acceptable Amount of Mold Spores Indoors?

Since mold spores are everywhere, there is no standard level of mold spores that you should have. How it is determined if mold spores are elevated is based on the surrounding environment. Therefore, every home will have a different acceptable number of mold spores.

An air quality test (or IAQ) is performed to determine if there are elevated mold spores within the home. A sample is taken from outside (as the controlled amount) as well as in the areas of the home you think may have elevated mold spores.

Signs of elevated mold spores;

a) Earthy / musty smell
b) A frequent buildup of dust
c) Re-occurring sickness (ie. Cold/respiratory issues)
